Author Guidelines

General
The abstract is an informal overview of the proposed content of the presentation. It should be, at most, 100 words and run about one or two paragraphs. Please include the following information:

· Name and professional title
· Company
· Email address and telephone number
· Formal abstract title
· Brief bio of author(s)

[Sample Abstract]

After you submit the abstract, an Ansoft technical marketing engineer will contact you to discuss the proposed presentation in more detail as well as any issues or needs that might exist. Please submit your abstract by February 3, 2005, via fax (412-471-9427, attn: 2005 HFSS Users Conference), email (hfpaper05@ansoft.com), or our online form (www.ansoft.com/hfworkshop05/abstract.cfm).

Presentation Materials
· The slides will not be printed for the event; however, the Title/Abstract/Bio will be printed on one page, with blank pages available for the audience to take notes. An electronic copy of the materials will be required the morning of the first day of the event.
· An Ansoft computer will have all materials installed for presentation. If any special software, video, or audio tools are required, you should inform the Ansoft technical contact prior to the event.
· Microsoft PowerPoint format for presentation materials is preferred to enable coordination with audio from production of a multimedia form of the presentation. PPT format will be converted to PDF format with protection against modification to protect the integrity of the authors' materials.
· We will ask you to sign a release form requesting permission for Ansoft to post these electronic materials on our Web site for public distribution.
· We will provide you with a release form requesting permission for Ansoft to record the presentation to create a multimedia version of the materials, which coordinates the slides with the presenter's audio. Permission to perform this recording is optional but strongly encouraged.
· For instructional or tutorial-type presentations, materials such as HFSS projects or design files from other design tools also may be provided for posting on Ansoft's Web site for public distribution.

Technical Topics
· This is an informal exchange forum, in contrast to the formality of an IEEE Transactions forum, where novel and original technical content is peer reviewed. We encourage topics that share general and detailed lessons learned and experiences with HFSS usage. A good rule of thumb: If a topic would be of interest to you or your colleagues, then the general HFSS user will most likely benefit from your insight.
· The focus of this workshop is HFSS; though usage of HFSS within your company's overall design flow also is of strong interest. We encourage topics addressing the use of HFSS in conjunction with other software design tools (from Ansoft or any other vendor) as well as with hardware design tools and instrumentation.
