VHDL-AMS for Multi-Domain Systems
P.J. Randewijk and H du T. Mouton, of the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, recently presented a paper outlining the use of VHDL-AMS for electrical, electromechanical, power electronic, and DSP-algorithm simulations. Using Simplorer® SV, the authors show that VHDL-AMS has the potential to be used in coursework at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

1. Leading Insight Workshops Scheduled for October–November (top)
Dont miss Ansofts Leading Insight Application Workshops for High-Performance Design, to be held from October through November at various locations throughout North America. Keynote speakers from leading technology companies, together with Ansofts technical staff, will share the latest simulation techniques and methodologies for IC design and verification; signal and power integrity; RF, microwave, and antenna design; advanced packaging and PCB design; and electromechanical and power systems design. Special focus on harnessing the power of distributed processing, intelligent data management, 3D accuracy, and large-capacity circuit simulation, will contribute to streamlined design flows, increased design insight, and greatly improved time to market. For information regarding featured presentations, keynote speakers, and online registration for your local event, visit www.ansoft.com/leadinginsight.
2. Nexxim Included in Cadence Connections Program (top)
Nexxim® has been accepted into the Cadence Design Systems Inc. Connections® Program. The integration of Nexxim into the Cadence Virtuoso® Analog Design Environment allows designers of complex DigitalRF CMOS ICs and GaAs/SiGe RFICs to gain access to Ansoft's new circuit simulation technology without the costs and risks associated with changing design methodologies.
