First-Pass System Success Workshops Draw Record Attendance (top) Ansoft’s First-Pass System Success application workshops in Asia and North America recently wrapped up, drawing a record number of attendees compared to previous years. And we expect more of the same for the European events, which take place now through November 21. After that date, we will post presentation PDFs on this page: http://www.ansoft.com/firstpass/index.cfm?src=news1107. In the mean time, see the Events section above or visit our Events web page at http://www.ansoft.com/events.cfm?src=news1107 to see what other workshops, training, and trade shows are planned for the coming months. 2. TTS Group Adopts Ansoft’s PCB Design Suite for High-Performance Design (top) Test Tooling Solutions Group (TTSG), a global manufacturer of ATE test toolings for the semiconductor industry, has adopted Ansoft’s PCB Design Suite, including HFSS(TM), Nexxim(R), Ansoft Designer(R) and Optimetrics(TM). TTSG’s adoption of the Suite extends the firm’s core design competency, strengthens its pool of intellectual property assets and minimizes time-to-market for new products-critical success factors in the fast-moving semiconductor tool market. Ansoft Releases Shin-Etsu Permanent Magnet Material Library for Maxwell (top) A new Maxwell(R) library of permanent magnet materials from Shin-Etsu Magnetics Inc. is available. The library contains more than 31 high-performance permanent magnets defined at different operating temperatures using rare earth elements that are ready for use within Maxwell. Permanent magnet materials are used in many applications, including motors, sensors, and actuators. Maxwell users now have access to the latest materials from Shin-Etsu to use directly within their simulations of new or existing designs. Customers can download the library by logging in to Ansoft’s Online Technical Support site at www.ansoft.com/ots. Read More: http://www.ansoft.com/news/press_release/071024.cfm?src=news1107 5. SMIC Announces HFSS-Based Library for High-Performance Design (top) Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), a world-leading semiconductor foundry, announced its commitment to Ansoft’s HFSS(TM) simulation technology for S-parameter extraction, frequency-dependent SPICE model extraction, and EMI prediction. SMIC’s adoption of HFSS extends its RF CMOS design capabilities and provides a proven platform on which to build accurate and traceable on-chip model libraries. SMIC will use HFSS to provide a unique library of complex, high-speed, and high-frequency passive structures for accurate, next-generation designs traceable to the foundry.
